ActRight combines the power of an independent federal political action committee (ActRight), a 527 organization (ActRight Fund), a 501(c)4 non-profit corporation (ActRight Action), and a 501(c)(3) non-profit (ActRight Action Education Trust) into one website, enabling users to pick and choose what activities they want, while helping them achieve their goals under one roof. It's a little complicated, because Big Brother places a lot of rules on what we can and cannot do with each organization. In order to make ActRight.com as robust as possible we've had to create a number of different organizations. Our legal team helps us take care of this, so you don't have to. Donations to candidates are processed separately from donations to causes.

When you and your friends mobilize to raise funds for a specific candidate or cause, those funds are distributed each week to the candidates or causes you choose. As elections loom, we increase the frequency to make sure that the candidates have the funding they need ASAP. Technically speaking, ActRight "bundles" the gifts of our users and distributes these funds directly to the candidates and causes that ActRight users designate.

ActRight has negotiated highly competitive processing fees to streamline the direct distribution of all online donations made to candidates or causes. Four percent is deducted from every contribution, and is paid by the recipient candidate or cause. This fee covers the processing of a credit card gift, and is no different than the fees charged on every website (except we tell you the amount!). We take no more and no less. It's that simple.

Sorry, unfortunately gifts to candidates, 527's, and 501(c)(4) causes are not tax-deductible. Only donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are deductible for federal income tax purposes. But obviously such donations cannot be used for political purposes.

Of course! Every gift to a candidate or cause is bundled and distributed along with the donor information. Making a donation to a candidate or cause on ActRight is similar to making a donation directly on a candidate or cause website. But by using ActRight, you get the benefit of combining your gift, along with those of your friends, to send a message to the candidates you support. You also are able to centralize and keep track of all of your giving and actions to help the cause in one place.

Your gifts and those of other ActRight participants are bundled together and processed immediately to send on to your select candidate or cause. Candidates and causes receive all of the contributor contact information so that they can acknowledge your gift, and you get the credit.
Contributions to ActRight directly via our "Give Us Love" button or voluntary gifts made when entering your gift to a candidate or cause help fund the ActRight technology platform and help us keep our costs to a minimum. We are not in business to make money. Our business is your candidates and causes.
