The Protect Life Act, HR 358,  introduced by Reps. Joseph Pitts (R-PA) and Dan Lipinski (D-IL) along with 121 other sponsors, represents a genuine bipartisan effort to ensure that no taxpayer funds will be used for abortion, or abortion related services in the new healthcare law. It would also add needed conscience protections for health care workers. It leaves the rest of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act untouched.

A committee in the U.S. House passed this measure recently. Now is the time for the full U.S. House to pass this legislation.
