The Obama Administration's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently issued regulations that would force private employers to cover contraception and sterilization in their health insurance plans, even if doing so violates their religious and moral convictions.
HHS issued those regulations despite numerous objections from religious groups, including the large U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-Nebraska) and Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) have introduced legislation that will protect employers from having to violate their conscience by offering possible abortion-causing contraception in their health insurance plans.
