Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday she was not ready to support a formal declaration of war against Islamic State militants, although she said the United States needs to improve its efforts to fight the group. To have a declaration of war, she said, requires understanding the resources available and the goals involved. "If you have a declaration of war, you'd better have a budget that backs it up," said Clinton, who was campaigning in New Hampshire.

On Friday, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell actually fact-checked Hillary Clinton’s suspicious tale of trying to join the Marines in 1975: “Those comments are being mocked by Republicans today and they’re getting two Pinocchios from Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler....Why on earth would she go to a Marine recruiter in 1975?...It doesn't make sense.”

Our neighbors to the north decided to pay homage to a self-professed murdering Al-Qaeda terrorist by slapping his picture on front of Maclean's magazine – which is the Canadian equivalent to putting a smiling Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan on the cover of Newsweek. Omar Khadr stands between two women; Rinelle Harper, an aboriginal woman who became the symbol for racist violence against aboriginal women; and Amanda Lindhout, a waitress turned journalist who was kidnapped by Muslim terrorists and tortured. Talk about awkward: two victims of violence...and a terrorist.

A Syrian passport found by police at the scene of the mass shooting in a Paris concert hall belonged to an asylum seeker who registered on a Greek island in October, a Greek minister said Saturday. "We confirm that the Syrian passport holder came through the Greek island of Leros on October 3 where he was registered under EU rules," said a statement issued by Nikos Toskas, the minister for citizen protection. The authenticity of the passport was being checked, but its discovery indicates a possible Syrian connection which has been a working hypothesis for investigators after assailants hit six separate locations in Paris.
