According to the reports, the vote was kept open for five hours to get enough support, ad finally the Senate advanced a House-approved spending bill with $5.7 billion for a border wall, after Vice President Mike Pence reportedly went to the Capitol to break a tie. Mike Pence went into meeting with Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer on Capitol Hill with White House aides, the meeting is said to be negotiations on how to secure some new money for border wall security. As part of a measure to fund the government through early February the House approved $5.7 billion for the border wall. The Democrats said they won’t support the bill with border wall money, as Schumer told Trump “President Trump: you will not get your wall,”
