In a challenge to Hillary Rodham Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden said that the next administration must push for Senate approval of the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership trade treaty to make sure the United States keeps access to Asian markets. Biden, presenting recommendations for the next administration in a bylined article in Foreign Affairs, said that President Obama's successor must build on treaties and initiatives pushed over the past eight years. The magazine sent out a pre-release of his article printed in the upcoming editon. TPP is extremely controversial. Clinton has come out in opposition to the trade deal. Donald Trump is also against it, as are several progressive groups now pressing Clinton, if elected president, to promise to fight Obama during a lame duck congressional session to debate the treaty.

Republican Donald Trump should win the presidency by a slim margin according to a model that has accurately predicted the popular vote since 1988. Using several standards to make his prediction, Alan Abramowitz's Time for Change model done for the University of Virginia's Center for Politics Crystal Ball shows Trump winning 51.4 percent to 48.6 percent for Hillary Clinton. He added that the model shows a 66 percent chance of a Trump victory. Based on a predicted vote share of 48.6 percent for the incumbent party, these results indicate that Trump should be a clear but not overwhelming favorite to defeat Clinton: There should be about a 66 percent chance of a Republican victory, Abramowitz added. However, in an unusual move, Abramowitz is throwing his own model under the bus and suggesting that Clinton will win because Trump is so different from past presidential candidates and has such high unfavorability ratings that his election forecast basics can't be trusted.

Libertarians had a golden opportunity in the 2016 election to give Americans a viable third-party option in light of the widespread unpopularity of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. All they had to do was nominate an actual libertarian ticket, but the Gary Johnson-Bill Weld ticket fails to meet that standard. Here are seven reasons the libertarian ticket isn't very libertarian.

Winning is a matter of faith for some of Team America at the Rio Olympics. Except journalists only seemed to care about Islamic faith and almost nothing about Judeo-Christian beliefs. So much so that the broadcast networks covered the Islamic faith of one Olympian more than 100 times more than the Judeo-Christian beliefs of five gold-medal winners.
