It is a disgrace that the institution of marriage – one of our society’s most important building blocks – is under attack. Right now President Obama is leading an unprecedented assault on marriage. He has declared that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) is unconstitutional, and legislation is moving through Congress to completely repeal DOMA. The very future of marriage is at stake, and that is why we are recruiting Americans from all walks of life to stand up with us. Please sign our petition.

Whereas, The institution of marriage as a sacred union between one man and one woman has been a primary building block for every successful society in recorded human history, going back thousands of years.
Whearas, Research shows that married people are happier, healthier and less of a burden on society, and that it is vitally important for children to have both a mother and a father present in their lives.
Whereas, Polls show that the vast majority of the American people support protecting traditional marriage, just as traditional marriage has been upheld in every state referendum that has been put forth.
Whereas, Since 1996, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) has served as common-sense federal law, protecting traditional marriage at the federal level and maintaining each state’s right to refuse recognition of same-sex “marriages” performed in other states.
Therefore, I urge you to vote AGAINST any legislation that would weaken or repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.
