The purpose of the New York State Division of Human Rights is to protect the rights all individuals-- this includes protecting business owners who act based off their religious convictions. They should not be supporting false claims of discrimination.
Does this sound like discrimination? [Quote from the Giffords]
“I think it's our right to choose who we market to, like any business… We are a family business and we just feel we ought to stay down the family path.”
On August 8, 2014, the New York State Division of Human Rightsfined Cynthia and Robert Gifford, owners of Liberty Ridge Farms, $13,000 for acting on their belief that marriage is the union between a man and woman.
In 2012, when a same-sex couple approached the Giffords seeking to rent out their family’s barn for their wedding -- the Giffords declined in good conscience, as they felt hosting the wedding would violate their religious beliefs.
The attorney representing the Giffords said, "This is their home...and they are being compelled to host a ceremony they feel violates their religious beliefs in their home. (This is) something they don't feel New York or any state should force upon an individual or a business."
$10,000 of the fine will be paid out to the State of New York, and the remaining $3,000 will be paid out to the same-sex couple.Additionally, the state requires the Giffords to take a class on discrimination.

Protect the fundamental right of religious liberty!
The New York State Human Rights Law was designed to protect the rights of all individuals, including protecting the rights of individuals who act according to their religious beliefs; it was not designed to be used as a form of discrimination against those who wish to uphold them.
The Giffords' fundamental right of religious liberty was violated by the unjust ruling imposed against them. There is no circumstance that should require an individual, or in this case, government body to force someone to violate their moral conscience or religious values.
We demand that you protect the rights of all individuals, including those individuals who make decisions based on the religious values they hold.
Protect religious liberty; don’t discriminate against those who value it!
