Revoke the Citizenship of American Terrorists
Target Name | Target Organization |
Speaker John Boehner | |
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell |
Act now, sign our petition supporting the Expatriate Terrorist Act introduced in the Senate by Sen. Ted Cruz and in the House by Rep. Steve King. Help us ask Congress to pass a unified version on this bill that will revoke the citizenship of American citizens who travel abroad to join terrorist organizations.
Congress needs to take swift action! It is the government’s job to keep us safe. How can they keep us safe if they allow known terrorists to freely travel between Syria, Yemen, or Iraq and the United States?
We have an opportunity to learn from the very recent lessons of Paris by passing this common sense law that will keep Americans safe and our infrastructure secure. Currently, US law permits the revoking of citizenship if the person in question joins a foreign state that is at conflict with the United States. But a technicality exists that if someone pledges allegiance to the Islamic State’s Caliphate or al-Qaida, their citizenship cannot be revoked because ISIS and al-Qaida are not states.
If passed, the Expatriate Terrorist Act will amend section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to deem specified activities in support of terrorism as means for renunciation of United States nationality.
Radicalized Americans pose multiple threats if allowed back in the country. Not only do they pose a threat to human life, but they also pose a threat to our nation’s most important infrastructure. Additionally, if terrorists are allowed back in this country, they will recruit on behalf of terrorist organizations in US mosques.
Government agencies do not need to be caught up in technicalities in order to protect the lives of innocent Americans. Americans who choose to leave the United States to travel to a foreign land in order to train with or fight aside know terrorist organization do not deserve their citizenship. The Expatriate Terrorist Act will accomplish that!

The Petition
Protecting Americans must be your Priority
I am writing you in support of the Expatriate Terrorist Act.
Confronting terrorism and protecting innocent American citizens must be your top priority. Thousands of westerners, many of them American citizens, travel to Iraq, Syria, or Yemen to train with ISIS or al-Qaida with the intention to return back and be an agent of terror in their home country.
Government agencies do not need to be caught up in technicalities in order to protect the lives of innocent Americans. Please act immediately! Pass a unified version of the Expatriate Terrorist in the House and Senate.
