Hi, I am David Wallace and I am a lifelong Marylander. I am running for the United States Senate in Maryland this year, and I urgently need your help to stop the refugee crisis that imperils our national security.

Governor Larry Hogan has declared that the state of Maryland should not accept any of the Middle Eastern refugees that President Obama wants to bring to our shores, until the proper screening procedures are put in place to check these immigrants for ties to terrorism. 

In the recent terrorist attack in San Bernardino, fourteen of our fellow countrymen were killed by an immigrant who entered the country on a fiancé visa -- and was not properly screened by the government.  

We must not allow another fourteen people in Maryland, or elsewhere in our country, to be killed by terrorists because we have failed to put in place the proper screening for immigrants coming to our country.  

Ted Cruz has the right idea in calling for a retroactive re-assessment of refugees coming into our country, and has introduced legislation to protect Americans from this threat.

“We need a retroactive assessment of refugees who have been admitted to this country,” Sen. Cruz said. “We need to systematically examine the national security threats. And I’ll tell you, one of the greatest challenges with the Obama administration assessing security risks is the bizarre, the indefensible political correctness of refusing to acknowledge what it is we are fighting.”

Sen. Cruz continued, “And it is my hope that leaders on both sides of the aisle will put aside politics and say, ‘let’s solve this problem.’ That’s what American people are looking for is leadership to keep America safe."
