If McCaskill won't vote for Kavanaugh, I won't vote for McCaskill!

To: Senator Claire McCaskill,

I am a proud Catholic, and a Missourian, too.

And I fully support the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

For decades we have watched our court system be used by partisans, unable to win public support for their policies, impose their agenda with the help of radical judges. This end run around our Constitution has disenfranchised millions of voters, eroded faith in our democracy, and sown bitter divisions among our citizens. This usurpation of power by judges and our courts is a direct assault on the vision of our Founders and the system of checks and balances they established.

We need judges who will limit themselves to their proper role, abide by the text and intent of lawmakers who write our laws, and obey our Constitution -- even when they may personally prefer otherwise.

We need judges who will honor and respect our First Amendment, including our cherished rights to speech, self defense, and religious liberty.

We need judges who will protect our liberties and uphold constitutional limits on governmental power.

We need judges of high intellect, a record of impartiality, fairness, and humility.

The confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh is for me a litmus test. Every Catholic voter I know will be watching this process closely.

And if you won't vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh, then you will not get my vote this November!
