Protect Religious Liberty at Universities

by ActRight Community in Family Research Council Action

Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., recently grabbed national headlines after University officials decided that campus ministries can't require that ministry leaders have a "personal commitment to Jesus Christ."

The Tennessee legislature approved legislation in response to this suppression of religious freedom. However, Governor Bill Haslam is now threatening to veto the bill (HB 3576/SB 3597) that protects campus ministries, such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (F.C.A.), Navigators, Cru (formerly known as Campus Crusade), and the Christian Legal Society.

University officials across the country are watching the situation closely as they consider new policies that are hostile to campus ministries. Please contact Gov. Haslam today and urge him NOT to veto the religious freedom bill.
