Read MorePresident Obama is not pulling punches in the early stages of the debt ceiling battle. Instead of using the bully pulpit to lead, Obama is using his platform to demonize his political opponents.
The president falsely claims a debt ceiling increase is necessary to ensure the delivery of social security checks, veterans’ benefits, and welfare programs for starving children. This is a cold, calculated, inside-the-beltway scare tactic.
Even if America hits the debt limit, the government will have enough revenue to cover the aforementioned programs and benefits. If Obama prioritized spending differently, and refused to send veterans or senior citizens their checks, that would be his choice – not Congressional Republicans’.

Send a message to President Obama and demand he stop demonizing his opposition during the debt ceiling negotiations.
