Introduced by Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO), the bill would amend the Budget Control Act to place disaster funding under the spending cap. Under the current Budget Control Act, there is a loophole that allows disaster funding to be counted outside the spending cap. The Budget for Disasters Act would remove the loopholes in the Budget Control Act to save taxpayers’ money.
