PBS host Charlie Rose on Monday night embraced many of Bernie Sanders’s positions and announced that the socialist’s positions are “not radical.” At first, the journalist suggested the Democratic candidate not use the label when campaigning: “I'm the first person trying to argue you away from the idea that you're a socialist.”

It’s a tall order for a black politician to become popular with “the de facto largest white identity organization in the United States,” but DeVega argues that Carson has pulled it off by “betray[ing] the Black Freedom Struggle and assault[ing] the truth in all its forms.” (As you probably assumed, “white identity organization” is DeVega’s description of the Republican party.) In a Salon article, DeVega attacked Carson for his recent remarks likening abortion to slavery: “Ben Carson and the other conservatives who want to limit women’s reproductive rights and control over their own bodies have more in common with the whites who ran the slave labor rape and charnel camps of the American South than they do with Abolitionists such as John Brown, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, David Walker, Sojourner Truth, or William Lloyd Garrison.” (Italics in original.)

Reality can be brutal, especially political reality as the Huffington Post seems to have found out. Back in July the Huffington Post went all in on the notion that the Donald Trump candidacy would be ephemeral so they could get away with displaying their bias by consigning Trump stories to the entertainment, not politics page. Unfortunately for them, Donald Trump not only lasted through the rest of the summer but he is well in the lead among Republican candidates for the nomination. Obviously at some point, the Huffington Post would be forced to cover Trump like the other candidates and that time appears to be now. However, first let us take a trip back in time to July when the Huffington Post foolishly crawled out on a political limb with this announcement:

Mika Brzezinski, liberal co-host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, said Tuesday that it was pathetic for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to charge one of her opponents with sexism. Over the weekend, Clinton had referred the first Democratic debate two weeks ago, wherein her closest rival, Bernie Sanders, said that all the shouting in the world would not solve gun violence. I've been told to stop, and I quote, shouting about gun violence, Clinton said at a campaign event on Friday. Well, first of all, I'm not shouting. It's just when women talk, some people think we're shouting. On Tuesday, Brzezinski, who has written two books on women empowerment in the workforce, said Clinton was being disingenuous. Watch the video below.
