In its latest attempt to shut down media coverage, the White House Saturday dismissed reporters to their Florida hotel by declaring a news lid even though President Obama was just beginning his golf game â but the press pool voted to stay.
After a two hour flight, Obama motorcaded to the posh Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City to play a round and also stay.
At that point, the pool reporter, Byron Tau of the Wall Street Journal, wrote in his report to other correspondents, The White House has called a lid. Pool does not anticipate news or POTUS sightings until tomorrow's departure of Air Force One.

Earlier today, Thaddeus Murphy was charged in U.S. District Court in Colorado in connection with an attempted January bombing in Colorado Springs. The targeted building houses that city's chapter of the NAACP, a barber shop — and, apparently at one time, a tax accountant's office. Quite a few people leaped to the conclusion that the bomb had to be meant for the NAACP, even though, as syndicated columnist and area resident Michelle Malkin noted last month, "The NAACP office is located on the opposite side of the building" from where the explosion occurred. The Criminal Complaint filed today indicates that the NAACP was not the target. The long vacant accountant's office was.

The news has been reporting on the willingness of several schools to allow high school students to engage in a walk-out protest over the continuation of the Second Amendment in this country. Many in the media are lauding this approach to civic behavior. Although, I am wondering if the county will have enough truancy officers after all of these students have to be arrested for skipping school. More importantly, given how ignorant they sound, these students should be required to remain in school and learn something about the Constitution.
