The North Carolina media have been predictably out of control since the state passed and signed the transgender bathroom law, but their behavior sunk even further following the Orlando terror attack when WRAL chief political correspondent Laura Leslie suggested backers of the law were to blame for the shooting because of their “rhetoric” “in the wake of this horrific anti-gay crime.”

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Democrats will force a vote soon on legislation to ban people on the terror watch list from purchasing guns and explosives.
Reid slammed Republicans Monday in a Senate floor speech for refusing to endorse gun control legislation Democrats have introduced over the years, including legislation sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., to block terror suspects from buying guns.
Democrats contend if the bill had passed, the FBI might have been able to stop Omar Mateen from purchasing the guns he used to kill 49 people in an Orlando nightclub early Sunday.
I'm heartsick, Reid said. I'm basically sick by our inaction. It's shameful that the U.S. Senate has done nothing. Nothing to stop these mass shootings. Is this what we want for America? I don't think so.
Reid blamed the NRA and the Gun Owners of America, as well as pro-gun groups that have opposed legislative and executive actions to limit guns ownership.

The Obama administration reacted to yesterday’s shooting in San Bernardino
– likely carried out by a Muslim terrorist – by insisting that “common
sense” gun laws will deter jihadists who are planning attacks.
Reporter Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest: “Does
the President really think that common sense gun laws would deter
terrorists now that he has admitted that these two may have been
terrorists?”
“Yes. The president believes that passing common sense gun laws that makes
it harder for people with bad intentions to get guns, makes the country
safer,” responded Earnest.
“But so the president thinks that when there are potentially two terrorists
sitting around planning a mass murder they may call it off because
President Obama has put in place common sense gun laws?” Doocy shot back.
“Why wouldn’t we make it harder for them? What’s the explanation for that?”
responded Earnest.

In the hours following the jihad attack on the Orlando nightclub, the mainstream media buzzed with conjecture, trying to get to the crux of why this mass shooting happened. Their conclusion? Anything but Islamic terror.
A montage of various news clips was posted to Facebook showcasing the egregious things pundits have been saying since the news broke, from blaming guns to comparing this violence to white supremacy. The clips show a local Orlando imam pleading with the country to avoid "sensation news and rushing to judgment." Well, it was too late for that:
