I want to express my great appreciation to Senator Mike Lee and to Representative Raul Labrador for their introduction of “Marriage and Religious Freedom Act” legislation in their respective chambers.
The issue of religious liberty is of paramount importance to me and to countless other Americans, especially in the wake of the terrible decision by the Supreme Court this summer to strike down part of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. People of faith in this country run the risk of encountering intimidation and reprisals without the kind of protections that this sort of legislation provides. I hope that all members of Congress realize the importance of this matter and vote to support this vitally needed legislation.
