Utah’s definition of marriage, adopted overwhelmingly by both the state Legislature and the voters of the state, is under attack by one of President Obama’s appointees to the federal bench. Every effort must be made to preserve marriage in Utah as one man and one woman, and ensure that a lone federal judge is not able to substitute his views for those of the people of Utah. Encourage Governor Herbert to do all he can to defend marriage.

Dear Governor Herbert,
Thank you for your efforts to preserve marriage in Utah. In that regard, I respectfully call on you to do everything in your power to stand strong and protect the sovereign right of the people of Utah to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
Utah’s definition of marriage, adopted overwhelmingly by both the state Legislature and the voters of the state, must be protected. Every effort must be made to preserve this definition of marriage and ensure that a lone federal judge is not able to substitute his views for those of the people of Utah.
