Barack Obama faces a slew of Middle East crises that some call the worst in a generation, as new chaos from Yemen to Iraq — along with deteriorating U.S.-Israeli relations — is confounding the president’s efforts to stabilize the region and strike a nuclear deal with Iran. The meltdown has Obama officials defending their management...

Politico surveyed a "bipartisan group of key activists, operatives and thought leaders in New Hampshire and Iowa" to reveal "grave concerns about Cruz’s electability." A "bipartisan" group? Does this mean that Politico actually consulted Democrats to weigh in on Ted Cruz's changes in the early primaries? Yeah, there is an "unbiased" group for you. However, the really significant news from the Politico article written by James Hohmann comes deep into the story after many paragraphs of unrelenting Cruz bashing where it is revealed that "Nearly two-thirds of Iowa Republican insiders believe Cruz can win the caucuses."

So often Americans speak as though our nation is the pinnacle of human progress, and in many ways, it’s true. No group of people in history has achieved the degree of liberty, wealth, technology, or military might to the extent that the United States has. But “progress” ought...

Ted Cruz has a bit of an image problem while Rand Paul has a bit of a message problem. Cruz is more consistent but obviously more maligned. Both men are highly intelligent. Cruz is traditionalist while Paul thinks outside the box. Both men hold our rule of law in very high regard but at the end of the day each possesses a bit of what the other lacks.

This had to be one of the more telling moments about the emptiness of Hillary Clinton's campaign. When Mika Brzezinski asked Morning Joe panel members today to describe Hillary's message "in ten seconds or less," they burst into laughter. "Why is that funny?" demanded Mika, surely knowing the answer: that Hillary stands for nothing much more than "it's my turn, dammit!" But that didn't stop Anne Gearan of the Washington Post from piping up, claiming "I can answer that. It's 'I'm on your side and they're not." As Newsbuster Ken Shepherd has detailed, Gearan has been "ready for Hillary" for a long time. But in fairness, perhaps Gearan is on to something. Hillary really is on your side . . . assuming you've donated a minimum of a million bucks to the Clinton Foundation.
