The era of the Reagan/Thatcher relationship emphasized private property rights and limited government and resulted in substantial gains in real income growth and overall prosperity. While the enemies of freedom and western civilization are now a different lot, the need for unyielding persistence and victory is identical.

Wendy Hartling got a frantic message through Facebook last year informing her that her daughter was inside a closet in her apartment — and that Hartling needed to call 911. She did so, and though paramedics arrived, it wasn’t in time to save her daughter’s life. Just like that, 25-year-old Casey Chadwick was gone. “I was so sad for so long, and still am very sad about not having my daughter with me. That guy shouldn’t even have been in the United States.” It took police in Norwich, Connecticut, only a matter of hours to arrest the killer — a Haitian native named Jean Jacques, who stabbed Chadwick to death during a dispute over drugs. While Hartling was trying to cope with the shock of losing a child, she quickly got another jolt — Jacques was an illegal immigrant under deportation orders who never went home. “I was so sad for so long, and still am very sad about not having my daughter

Chicago has reached a crisis point for gun violence. Voices from various public officials have recently suggested that the solution is to increase the penalty for gun possession. They suggest that a "war on guns" needs to be launched, with longer prison terms providing victory. They are sadly mistaken.

Every year when FIRE publishes its “Worst Colleges for Free Speech” list, we remind readers that it is not a ranked list, but rather a compilation—in no particular order—of the year’s worst free speech offenders. Occasionally, however, we do wonder which college or university would deserve a spot at the top of a ranked list. Yesterday provided such an occasion, as we sent a letter to DePaul University outlining several months of free speech violations spanning multiple incidents and contemplated the university’s history of violating its community’s expressive rights. DePaul’s most recent series of missteps began in April, when students ?

Appearing on Thursday's New Day, CNN political analyst and former NBC Meet the Press anchor David Gregory repeatedly insisted that Hillary Clinton's handling of her email with a private server was "not illegal," and that this assertion is "not in dispute." He ended up claiming that the proof of this claim was that FBI director James Comey chose not to prosecute and ended up fretting over the possibility that Republicans would try to "re-litigate" the matter.

Mark Twain once said, "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." Like most chestnuts that sound simplistic, that one also happens to be true. Indeed, if you tell the truth, if you have a core set of principles, if your beliefs are based on a consistent set of values and ethics, you don't need a good memory to stay out of trouble. This is a lesson the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza has yet to learn. Over the last few days Cillizza's lies, mixed with a bad memory, have seen whatever credibility he once had blow spectacularly up in his face.

Enough with Hillary's Damn Emails

Submitted 8 years ago by ActRight Community

So urges the Washington Post editorial board. The scandal is evidently interfering with the campaign to defeat Donald Trump. This is reason enough for journalists and Democrats to want it to go away, but it will remain with us, if for no other reason than that it is impossible for Hillary Clinton to be truthful about it. She is never going to admit that she wanted to hide her records in violation of the rules from legitimate press and congressional inquiries.
