Plenty of conservatives would concur with Daily Kos writer Mark Sumner that Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is a fascist. They certainly would not agree with Sumner’s belief that the GOP as a whole has become increasingly aligned with fascism “since at least 1994.” Sumner contended in a Sunday article that beginning in “the time of the Gingrich,” Republicans “realized they could simultaneously weaken the government, complain about the failure of programs they had just sabotaged, and create a perpetual-motion machine of government destruction…Republicans [would] take on anything, no matter how insane, so long as it kept dragging the conversation ever rightward.”

Sen. Ted Cruz blamed an extreme strain of Islam for Tuesday's terrorist attacks in Brussels, which saw at least 34 killed and 170 injured after two explosions hit the Belgian capital. Cruz also argued in a statement that the attacks are not isolated incidents. The two attacks took place outside of the Brussels airport and the Maelbeek metro station near the European Union less than a week after Salah Abdesalah, the terrorist behind the Paris attacks in November, was captured. Our hearts break for the men and women of Brussels this morning, Cruz said in a post on Facebook. Make no mistake — these terror attacks are no isolated incidents. They are just the latest in a string of coordinated attacks by radical Islamic terrorists perpetrated those who are waging war against all who do not accept their extreme strain of Islam.

It’s been observed for quite some time that Google isn’t just a private corporate behemoth, but that its executives are often times more intricately involved in U.S. foreign policy than most people would find appropriate. It’d be one thing if this support was for a sane and humanitarian foreign policy, but we all know it’s precisely the opposite. In fact, certain Google executives have demonstrated a particular interest in overthrowing governments throughout the Middle East, which has achieved nothing but sow chaos and result in the creation of powerful new terrorists groups such as ISIS.
